Default Looking for English Oak

Hello all,
I am wanting to try my hand at canving a few green men. I need some pretty thick chunks of english oak. Does anyone know a source?

Well, according to Quercus robur Fact Sheet
it's widely spread across the US. I'd suggest looking in the yellow pages of larger metropolitan areas for "hardwood lumber". One place here in Northern Virginia that might have what you are looking for is Colonial Hardwoods - they list an "English Brown Oak"
