Bob , I pulled up Heinecke's site and he mentions lots of basswood but doesn't advertise butternut... and Bart, I pulled up the site you mentioned but all they mention is boards.. I would like some three by six .. There is a company called " Furs and Feathers' Woodworking in Springfield , Ill.. that has block butternut and they said that most butternut had wormholes in it, that theirs might have a few. Are you framiler with that company? Do you agree that butternut has worm holes in it? Thanks for your help. Charlotte

Charlotte,

You might try here, they are a bit salty on pricing but they carry a lot of good woods.

Charlotte,
I have some in the garage if you would like I could cut you off a chunk and mail it to you so you could try it. Beautiful wood and carves a lot like bass wood but has a little more grain. Just let me know and I will get a piece to you right away. Just private email me your mailing address, I am sorry but I have misplaced it from before.
Colin
