Default ID of Standing Birdseye Maple

A ways back there was some question about identifying birdseye maple while still standing. One of my forester friends advised that he could spot the stuff, but no one ever showed me how........well, he finally got me a piece of bark from a standing birdseye tree, and the piece definitely shows how to spot it. Check this photo and you'll see the small round indentations that cover the raised "birdseye" bumps.
