 'Hard' Basswood One piece of basswood that I recently purchased has a lot of hard spots in it that are difficult to carve. Somewhere in the back of my mind (??), I remember someone saying you could spray rubbing alcohol on it and the wood would carve easier. Does anyone know about this? Jerry  |

| Re: 'Hard' Basswood I don't think alcohol will help hard spots....probably southern basswood! the alcohol will help with chipping out.
