Default Free wood

Hello all I am a chainsaw guy and really only tackle bigger jobs, however for some strange reason I have been saving my scraps was thinking about using them in our wood burning stove this winter but can see that some people out there can really use these pieces. Everytime I carve Apple, Crab Apple, Black Walnut, Sycamore, Cherry , Black Cherry ,Chestnut, White Oak etc. I save them in a 6 X 12 Trailer I have. Well its starting to over flow and I was getting ready to have my kids unload them in the back of my house for next winter. Just so I can have room to refill this trailer again....lol

I know of and have read about the Priority flate rate box ( did not check the rates yet) but can pack these this full if there is anyone in need of good hard wood scraps.

Rate will only be postage, plus 5.00 for the time it takes me to get the boxes, the gas it takes to bring them and send them out to the post office.

If you think thats a fair deal just let me know what you want and I'll be happy to share the wood.

I can also accomodate White Pine and Hemlock if desired....I normaly donm't save these in my trailer because I have a 55 gallon barrel I burn them in daily to keep my scrap pile down

You know if you cut those into 1 x 1 or 3/4 x 3/4 by 5 or 6 in long...you can sell them on ebay as pen blanks! Pen turning is very popular! And pen turners are always looking for a new pretty wood to make a pen out of !

Well if thats what someone wants to do with them ...I would say have at it....We are not really looking to do anything with our scraps...they are our scraps. We have orders right now for custom carvings and don't really fiddle with the small things ....

We just figured that we would offer our wood for anyone who would want to use them. Our scraps are actully chunks of wood.

I'll go out and take some photos today so that the photo will explain its self.

Hence the tag line....I got my wood lets get started.

By the way anyone that is near Western North Carolina that would need wood can just come an pick what they would like...

If there is no interest....we will just burn them like we have been doing...

CA,
Thanks for the offer. I'm sure many carvers will take you up on it.

I also wanted to drop you a line about the edit I made to your post. I went in and disabled the smilies so you can acutally write A P P L E without getting the little bouncing apple graphic.

Bob

Talking Re: Free wood

These are a few photos of our work yard....Inside the 6x12 trailer I did not get photos of, but you can see a tad of it on the left of my hemlock pile, its full of only hard wood. If you see the barrel thats where we burn much of the wood we won't burn in out wood stove here at home (soft woods). We also have wood piled up in the lower half of our barn .... that is not shown in the photo.... So as you can see we are glad to know that many of our wood projects are leaving behind scraps that will be use for another wood project...
