Thats what I was thinking of or at least something similar, Thanks Mike.

The sticks I've had behind the stove have not checked any more than those I air dry. A dogwood placed there three weeks ago is ready now. Sycamore sticks placed there more than a month ago are hard as rocks. I think with some experimenting and care we can do something on a small scale. Whittler

Where I get my wood they have a small garage converted over to a Kiln. They have the wood burner heating it with the fans and vents and a divider to help push the air around in it. They use it for cabinet wood that they want to have around. Then when it is not in use for drying, it is used to store the other wood they have. Most of the wood is stacked on roller beds for easy moving. For us the roller beds would not matter. Seeing the wood will be staying there for storage anyways. I myself, I have been concidering converting my old coal room over to a small Kiln. Just the right size and not far from my furnace. Other then that if you have a commerical Kiln around get ready to pay out between $100 to $150 per 1000 ft for 4/4. Average stay in the kiln is 2 to 3 weeks depending on the thickness. I think someone had a good idea using a storage garage. I think they run around $800 to a $1000.
