MA, burning and carving is not the same as playing with matches and knives.

Feb,

I got Bark from elwood troll last year, He filled the 8x12" box and was very generious, I sent him a $10.00 money order a little more than what he was asking, to cover some of his handling efforts, and i recieved the wood as soon as he could get to town on the next trip,

I cant say all the bark is as great as what i got, but what i got was well over 2" thick well dried no fungas and pretty much cleaned off with a bandsaw on the outter exposed side, i sent some of the bark, to tom H. recently maybe he has carved it and could give some testiment, as to how it carves, i never found a project to do but whittled on it some it carved like bark...

but you can trust elwood to do as he stated in the post, like i said i found him trustworthy and very generious.

The free cottonwood bark that Elwood Troll sends out is great for doing what I like to do. And that is faces, and smaller stuff. I have not tried to do any of the smaller Gnome houses yet. The bark is cleaned up and is solid. It carves very well. I am sure there is much thinker bark out in Montana, Colorado, etc. The this is great fun to carve. It's a lot better than the price would indicate...I am very happy and very glad to get it. In the photo, there is a piece that I am still working on, a sliver of the bark with a face carved, and a piece of the uncarved bark. Notice that Elwood T even cleans it up for ya.....Tom H
