How many of you guys and gals have carved in cottonwood and how do you like it.I think it is great for reliefs and caricatures if you keep your tools sharp.
I use it quite a bit xx lots of it available for free so why pass up a good thing. Carves nice and holds detail well, a little harder than basswood, but who cares, the price is right.
