Question Where can I find Basswood in Pasadena?

I'm an international student on PCC taking sculpture class. For my project, a wooden horse with jointed parts, I need a soft easily-carved wood. I have no idea where I can get some nearby, as I don't have a car to take me far. I live in Pasadena, anyone know a place where I can get some? Alternatively, does anyone know a place where I can order online? I prefer price over quality, I'm on a student budget...

You can order from Rockler, or Heinieke, Rockler is cheaper, Heinieke is better. Just look them up on the net.

You didn't say if it was Pasadena, CA, or Pasadena, TX, or one of several others, but I'll assume CA. There's a Rockler store located at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware - Pasadena, CA Store and they have basswood, which is what you should be using. They also have knives, gouges, and sharpening supplies. The other option, if you have a week, is to order from Heinecke Wood Products which is what I do. They have top quality wood, and they ship quickly.
