| Just curious. Where do most of you folks buy your bass wood? I am finding it difficult to find except in hobby stores and it is quite expensive. Do you buy from online sources or what? I would really appreciate any advice that you all might offer. Thanks, Ray |

I will second that recommendation. Heinecke Wood Products Great prices as far as I am concerned also. And don't be shocked when they don't ask for money. They will send your wood. Then later send an Invoice. |

Thanks for the replies. My problem is that we are on the road most of the time so I will have to wait until we are going to park for a while. We are headed for Wisconsin though so maybe I can go to the home office of Heineke. Thanks again, Ray |

I split my orders between Itasca Wood Products and Heinecke Wood Products both have great wood and service. Wouldn't want either one of them to go out of business due to lack of customers. Itasca is in Deer River, Minn and Heinecke is in Cumberland, Wisc

Michaels has some, as does most Woodcraft stores, but you'll end up paying a bit more. Mark |

Once again, thanks for all the help and suggestions. We are in Sioux Falls right now and will be heading in the direction of both of these suppliers. I am planning on stopping in and buying a supply. Right now I don't have any specific plans in mind so I am hoping that they might have a sort of odds and ends box that I can buy. I am also going to buy a long block but it will be a little difficult to cut it up as I only have a small handsaw. I sold all my woodworking equipment in order to go full timing in our RV. Oh well, where there is a will there is a way. Thanks again, Ray |

If you are a chip carver and need thinner basswood (1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8) then you can find great wood at Itaska. They are listed on this web site. Bill K. |
