Default you don't know Jack...!

...So, I'll introduce you!
This Jack Squat
I thought I would post him in the finishes section, since he is both the food coloring bit and the instant coffee bit in one project. I think that's how I learned about them both.
Necessity is for sure the mother of invention!
When I was flat broke and had no $'s to spare for craft...no pretty paints...siiigh...I used my kids color crayons and colored pencils. Then one day I made the food coloring...I love it! To get rid of the brightness, I added the coffee wash. Even today, when I can afford a few paints, I still use what’s in the kitchen and what’s in the kid’s art box. I like the homemade antique look it gives my projects.
As you can see, these pictures are before the food coloring and after. I will add the coffee wash tomorrow and you can see what a dramatic difference it makes. Loves!

Keoma,
Well it was a pleasure to meet Jack I enjoyed the visit. Playing around I have used sugarless kool aid and once beet juice. It was for ornaments I did on the scroll saw and I cannot say I was thrilled with the reasults (too dull for ornaments).
By the way spell checker said I should spell your name Coma.

Hi Keoma,

Thanks for the intro. Now, is he going to get dressed? I'm amazed at your creative abilities. He looks remarkable.

Thank you Ron! I will dress his skinny body as soon as I finish sewing his jacket
Hi Robert! I do like the food coloring for it's brightness. You know they even have neon colors?! Not my style, but they have them in any case I use a lot of red during Yule They make that in pint sizes
