I have seen this before and was really impressed buy how well they work not sure where to find plans but I would google for em. I know turners use them quite often, I haven't made one since I would have to make about 30 not to mention my shops upstairs is a kiln and with the woodstove reaches 140 degrees. Sometimes instead of firing up the sauna we just sit upstairs and carveTalking

Google it. There are a couple out there.
Maybe not out of a refrigerator, though.

I ran into a couple of designs that way a couple of months ago looking for "home lumber kiln" or "hobby lumber kiln".

Basically, anything that gets the ambient air to 110*-120* and keeps the air moving around the lumber up on stickers every 18".

How about getting one of those pieces of black poly pipe around 15 inches in diameter that the construction types use. Figure out how to put airtight caps on each end, install a valve you can hook up a small vacuum pump to, and have at it. The combination of sun heat on the black plastic, and a mild vacuum (5-10 psi) should pull the moisture out quickly...

Have you tried this Claude? probably work, but my first impression is that it might draw out the moisture too fast? not a statement, just a thought?

For sure you do not want to lose a lot of moisture fast, it will stress crack the wood and make it rather hard. I normaly dry the lumber and carving/turning stock I mill, outside for a few years depending on what it is, after that it goes into the upstairs of my shop. It is extremely dry in there, my older brother and I where working on a guitar of his one day and he had been in there for about 30 minutes when he got a nose bleed. I have a pile of basswood that has been in the upstairs it was milled last Feb. it was about 45% moisture content and then I checked the moisture content in April and it was already down to 12%, it is now at 3% our moisture meter does not go any lower.
