Default Re: Why would you want to make a new carving look old?

We sold antiques for a few yrs, we had a l800's drop leaf table. looked in new condition. A lady bought it, and beat it up to make it look old. We also stripped the white paint from a pine bedroom set, bed, dresser and nite stand, stained, and varnished, it came out great. Another woman bought it, and painted it white to go with the rest of her set. Different strokes for different folks I guess. But its sure discouraging when you love to see natural wood.

Geez some family protected that table for 200 years and this nut case beat it up? There have places for people like that! They have fences around them......just ask Kenny!
