As you know there is a wax-looking substance on the tip end of a quill on tertiaries, and a few of the secondary feathers. What would you do to make this on your cedar wax wing? I recently took 5 minute epoxy and mixed in some red medium artist oil paint and applied this mixture to the tip end of the noted feathers. Turned out very well, IMHO. Would like to hear how you have accomplished this "wax". Happy carving Dick |
