Default WATCO satin finishing wax no longer being sold

I was wondering if somebody could assist in my dilema. I have been trying to obtain watco satin finishing wax in natuarl and dark to finish off a project that is due next week and nobody around me carries it any longer and I have been told it is no longer being made. Has anybody else heard of this? It appears that WATCO was bought out by Rustoleum and it does not appear that they are continueing the line. Does anybody have a suggestion as to what to use to produce the same effect? I have a carved piece that was dipped in BLO and painted with acrylics and now just waiting on the antiqueing. HELP! Could I use just a spray of satin varnish and what brand do people use. I have heard of DEFT but nobody carries that either. Krylon only seems to make a gloss and a matte.

Thanks for any and all replys.

Try Woodcraft on line if you don't have a store near by. I also have seen some Watco products at Home Depot. I would also look for one of the dark stains for antiquing.

Just checked Woodcraft and they still have it on their web site WATCO Satin Finish Wax - Woodcraft.com

Recently read an article, Could have been the Painting and finishing Mag from WCI(picked it up in a carving shop in Des Moines)? Where a Carver finished his carvings with Shoe polishes.
Since their a Tinted Wax base product the options could be limitless?
Since that's a supply I could sneak into the wifes grocery budget, I think I will try them.

There is a local lumber yard in Wichita that still sells it. Bought some about 3 mos ago. Tried to order some from carving supply stores but was told they could not longer send it mail order because of some postal regulations.

If all else fails, I would try an old fashion hardware store, I still have a couple in my area and use them all the time, much better service then the box stores, and sometimes still have things that have been dicontinued.

I'll back up #6 Ed's comment about no shipping allowed anymore. Larry U. of WoodcraftShop told me the same thing this past summer. I think he blamed it on Home Land Security requirments.
