Has anyone had any experience with Rockler’s 100% pure Tung Oil that they wouldn’t mind sharing? Thanks. |

I have it and use it on most of my carvings that receive a natural finish. You have to cut it at lest 1:1 with mineral spirits if you want it to dry while you're young. Follow the directions for tung oil and the other oil finishes. Don't leave wet spots on your work after about 15 minutes; they won't dry and will become gummy. While some carvers put several costs of tung oil on their work, it works by soaking into the wood, and once you have the wood sealed, further coats just sit on the surface, so it depends on the wood and how porous it is. Good luck. Mike
