Default Question about Watco Satin Wax

Hi All,
Found a store today that stocks Watco Satin Finish Wax. They only had neutral. My question is this, if I wanted to use this as an antiquing solution, Rhadigan style (70% Neutral, 30% Dark), you think I could add some Burnt Umber or similar color paint to the Neutral wax (in a separate jar )?

Next question, what type would you recommend, the tube kind? oil or acrylic?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

I can't answer your question, but I can say that I have seen the Watco brand waxes at the Home Depot & Lowe's here in Georgia. And I think they have the nuetrial & the dark.

After thinking you could put a little of the wax in a small container and add the paint to that to see what happens. Not sure the wax will make the paint disolve.

Good luck & keep carvin'

You might try oil paint, and test it first.
Personally; I would try to find the dark and do it right. I find it works well.
