(Looking over my shoulder making sure nobody's looking)

WOW! Now that's coool!!! Thanks Nancy--I do appreciate your effort. I'll save the photo for a day when I know how to paint.

(I'm working on erasing but me thinks my electric eraser is going to burn up before I get the image off my monitor!!! Good thing I'm a draftsman--my arms would fall off if I was doing this by hand. )

Nancy, do you remember how impressed (depressed ) I told you I was when you sent me the picture of that Santa?? I believe it was triple chocolate ice cream I soothed my despair with!! Well, seeing it again, in CLOSE UP yet, has sent me spiraling into another deep depression....then to deepen my depression more, you put on a picture of those presents....keep this up and I'm going to stuff myself till I'm the size of the Goodyear blimp!!!

I can't believe you can paint like that, in such tiny, tiny detail. You are amazing! How long did it take you to paint the coat? How do you hold the presents when you paint them? In your fingers or do you stick them on a wire or something? Do you thin your paints down, with what? Everything is amazing, I know I said that before but WOW! I really love how you paint!

Okay, got to run, I'm going to order some Winsor-Newton brushes and eat a half gallon of butter pecan ice cream with hot peanut butter fudge topping.....maybe a whole gallon......or more!! Deborah

Wait Bob L, think about it, when you have a bowl of cereal for breakfast, what are you having? Milk, grain and sweetener.....right? Just exactly what a nice big ice cream cone is.....milk, grain and sweetener! Don't want the cone, how about a cookie with your ice cream, it's got grains, right? Right! And if it's a chocolate chip cookie with walnuts, you've added more protein and dark (semi-sweet) chocolate....which has also been proven to be good for you! See, ice cream, really is the perfect breakfast food! Deborah

Nancy,
I keep that santa's robe printed and look at it for inspiration all the time. I did a paisley print robe years ago on a piece but it didn't look anything like yours

But with the brush you just sent to me, I will try again....... I think robes with patterns are so interesting and it adds so much to the piece. Maybe with some of that left over Pizza that Deborah is warming up for breakfast I can concentrate on painting a little better....hey Deb! wait for me..............

Hi Callynne!

Same here with mostly sleet turned to rain--a heavy sloppy mess to get rid off the walks before it turns to ice tonight.

Okay, Okay! No argument here--my best friend used to heat up leftover pizza for breakfast--I couldn't believe it when I first saw it, but to each, his own. Now, where's that box of chocolate frosted donuts--DON'T EVEN GO THERE!!!

I put the thread about the markers up,but if I could paint like you I would have never even thought about markers. That's amazing!
Maybe we all could use some practice painting as much as we practice carving, a little patience and a steady hand would help too!
great carving and painting!

Nancy, I think that has got to be one of my all time favorite Santas! The paint job on that robe just blows my mind. I agree with Callynne, it is inspiring and depressing all at the same time.

Awesome, work! Thanks for sharing. ~ Joy
