I've just completed my first caricature and am ready to paint...what are the 2 or 3 main size and type brushes I will need? I am going to paint with acrylic water colors. I thank you in advance for your help...HHersh

i use a number 6 round- for the most of the painting-- you'll need smaller ones for the eyes and i dont know what size mine are--dont buy the sets-- the hair in the brushes is too coarse ( in my opinion) i spend $5-7 for most of mine-- -- now im sure you will get some very different opinions from others. you will find your favorites in the future-- and dont be afraid to change ur finishing methods and brushes that you use-- i know many of the pros change year to year the products that they use.

I'd say: it depends... If you''re carving caricatures out of logs with a chainsaw, you could get away with a one inch sash brush; if you're carving 3/4 inch tall ones like TnArtist, then you likely need something as small as an 18/0 brush, so...it depends...
