Default Gun finish

Has anyone used Tureoil (maybe truoil,by birtchwood,cassy)gun stock finish on their carving ? I'ev found it to be quite tough and pretty.Seals the wood tight! THKS

Yep, sure do use it, I use it 50/50 with Danish Oil for all natural finish stuff I do. It is Tru Oil by Birchwood Casey.

Ya know, I have refinished a lot of gun stocks using Tru oil but never thought to use it on a carving. Guess you are never to old to learn something new.

i have used truoil on some carvings, and i actually smear a good coat of it on the handles of my carving tools about once a year. it gives a real nice "grip" to your tools.

Ive used it for mandolins and guitars. I dont see why it shouldnt be great on carvings.
