Great job I really like it although I wasnt able to give you any advise. When it comes to birds I have a hard time. Very well done though look forward to seeing more

I think you did a nice job on the head. If it were mine, I would have rounded the pedistal much more to match the flow of the head. I would have used a dark wood base (or dark stain) and routed the edge.
You put a lot of hard work in the carving....a better presentation would have done it justice.....IMO
