Default Food Safe Finishing...Did I mess up?

My spouse requested a two ended wooden juicer for limes and lemons. Wanted it spruced up a bit with little tiny chip carving around the hand guard.

I wanted to stain the handle and hand guards with a gel stain so the little chip carved flowers would really stand out. I figured it wouldn't hurt to protect the handle a bit too. Unfortunately, I got stain on the juicer bit too and since I couldn't sand it off without ruining the piece I went ahead and stained the juicer parts as well.

It looks very pretty, very antique actually, but the spouse wanted functional not decorative. Now I'm worrying about what I did.

Have I completely ruined the juicer for use?
Will the acid of the limes and lemons react with the stain making it unsafe to use?
Is there anything I can use to seal the juicer so that even with the stain it'll be safe to use?

I would contact the manufacturer of the stain and ask them
