Default First paint job

I have a work in progress. Finally I decide to jump into the lions and do my first human figure with my pirate.

It need some work yet and the accesories, but it's almost finished.

I've never, never painted one of my carvins, but I want to paint this one. I've been reading something here in the forum and in Lynn's blog, but i'm still pretty unsure. Sems than every step by step I've readed is to antique pieces and I don't know wich ones can I jump over and wich ones are a must.

Help?

Default Re: First paint job

Tarik,

Hopefully I'm not to far off in the process for accuracy... if so hopefully some one will jump in and correct me. Please

depending on the style and medium you want to use and the effect you want it all makes some differences...

some folks paint with artist canvas type oils and thinning with boiled linseed oil.

some folks paint with straight acrylic paints or use Lynn droughtys wet thinned paint on wet surface...

and some folks just seal their carvings ...
