Default finish new sign

Hi menmbers, I'm in the process of carving a relief sign ,with letters((2'X3'). iT WILL BE HUNG OUDOORS in the Adirondaks in up state NY (COLD ,WET climate)) A
ny suggestions for a good finish . Thanks for any help. Bill W

I use danish oil on all my outdoor benches. You need to re-apply it once a year or so but you dont have to remove the old finish, just get the accummulated muck off and re-oil. I normally apply it with an old nylon pan scrubber.
