Exterior Finish on Woodspirits?

Members, what exterior finish do you recommend to put on 'woodspirits' that are going to be placed outside to offer the best protection? Thanks, Bill in NY 'coffeeman'

Minwax 'Helmsman' Marine quality polyurethane. Â*It and the roaches will be here long after you and I are extinct.

Captain, thanks for the advise, I was concerned about the sun & rain, had never given a thought about the roaches, so thank you and I'll get exactly what you recommended. Bill in NY 'coffeeman'

Hi Coffeeman,
I carve only woodspirits and 95% of my carvings stay outside. I use Sikkens woodstain I find it the best and lasts 4 times as long you pay a little more for it but I find it is worth it.
