Default Dull Birds

Here's my big problem. I have some ducks that I carved and painted a few years back. At the time they seemed OK. Now they look dull and lifeless. What can I do to perk them up?

If you had them displayed in the sun, the colors may have deteriorated from UV radiation. Not much you can do about that but re-paint. If you used acrylics with no clear finish, you might try washing with a mild soap, rinsing thouroughly, let them dry, then try applying several coats of poly spray finish.
Quite often that will make the acrylic colors "pop"!

Thanks for the suggestion to liven up my birds. I just got your message so I haven't tried that yet. I will do so and then let you know how it works out.
