Just wondering what everybody uses under their carvings when they are drying their carving after painting and finishing.

Dowel rods will make the least contact, that is what we used in that repair shop I worked in many years ago

I cut triangle shaped strips from 2" hardwood and lay them parallel across two saw horses perpendicular to the horses. Only the knife edge of the triangle contacts the carving. I can adjust the strips on the sawhorses for different size carvings.
