I've got this little 2 oz. bottle of a water-based color stain called 'Anita's Color Stain'. I've had it for so long, I have no clue where I got it. I just used it for the first time, and I really like it. I looked around a bit online, but can't find anyplace that carries it. Do any of you use it? Do you know where I might find it? Thanks, Teri ??? |

well, I liked the bottle that I use - it was called 'venetian green' - first, I really liked the shade. But more than that, it went on so smoothly and soaked in so evenly...it did on its own what I usually have to use a combination of water and acrylics to do. Teri |

I finally got someone to help me get to Hobby Lobby, where it was suggested I might find the elusive Anita's Stain, but alas, they did not have it. They had the paint, though, and I did pick up a few bottles just to give them a try - they were 3 for $1!!! I've also tried the site listed above, but they don't have any stains listed there, either...and I can't get them to answer me. Alas, I fear that the Color Stain must have been discontinued and I am left with this one little bottle to make me wish. Teri |

Teri - I was into town this morning and stopped by Home Depot just to see what I could spend some money on and noticed that minwax has a lot of different custom mixed colors for their water based stains. Checked out their website just now and the color selection is quite large. I think they are available in 1/2 pint quantities, at least I have a can of premixed light oak in that size. Don't know if they will suit you needs or not. F.E. 6 more lbs and it's plain old Ed |

Thanks, Ed - I'll check them out! Are you finding it on Home Depot's site...or on Minwax's site? Teri |
