Well ,I did my bowl' s cracks with the famous CA glue ,the cracks are gone but the stains from the glue is still there .The surrounding wood has darkened with the glue and I can not get rid of the discoloration. unless I take the Dremel to it and that is a headache. I have touched places with poly and BLO it seems to take on the color of the stain, I have put soooo much work into this piece, now what ???? does anybody have had this experience? and what to do about it? Thanks for any suggestions Alice |

I'm really sorry your having problems. I doubt you can do anything with the CA glue since what is does is seep into the wood and sets up. That's why we use it most of the time. I would say unless you have a really hardwood you probably won't get rid of the miscolor unless you remove it. If you could match a close color stain might be a thought. Of course the glued area won't accept the stain but if you were lucky you might match the stain to the glued area. Hope you find something to help.

What if you coat the whole bowl with the thin c.a.? it would even up the color and toughen the bowl I would think?

What Hi-Ho said! Works great on knife handles. Not as big as a bowl, but the method should scale up.
