Default Brother's face, hmm I'm trying.

I've been working on this for about eight hours, I'm getting to the stage of refining details. I still got some work to do, but I think it's starting to look like my Bro.

Wow
looks great so far. I'll be keeping a watch on this post.

Are you power carving or using hand tools?

Looking really good so far. Great outline of the basic features. Looks like an interesting face, and am looking forward to seeing progress.

Thanks,

I mainly use power tools, chainsaw to rough out. I do use hand tools when needed, especially the eyes.

A bit more work on the face, I have to start removing some of the back part.

excellent work Bruce, is it going to be a gift for your brother? or is he just your model for this carving?
I see the referance photo's on the bench so I'm assuming he knows your carving it.

Thanks, it's going to be somewhat of a surprise Xmas gift. I took the photo's awhile back, I told him I messed it up and couldn't finish it. sneeky hey? I do want him to see it before I finish it, after all he has to be satisified with it, so any changes he wants I can do before I spend the time on finishing.
