Where did you find these names? I looked in Wood Identification & Use by Terry Porter, which I've found to be very thorough, but can't find either name. Maybe it's a variety of American mahogany, called Costa Rican, Brazilian or Central american mahogany. Another name for it is ACAHOU, which sounds a bit like Acana. All vary considerably in color. They say it is high quality for funiture and cabinetmaking. Highly lustrous. It glues, nails, screws and stains well, if we're talking about the same wood. Try a small scrap and see what you find.
