| | what is your favorite carving tool? ok folks we have probably done this before but lets do it again. name the one tool whatever it may be that you cannot do without. the one tool that if it broke or got lost your carving would come to a halt until you got a new one.
be specific with name brand and sizes.
mine would be my ron wells carving knives with 2" blades or my flex-cut or denny 1/4" veiner.

| | Re: what is your favorite carving tool? The Denny chip carver, real small one. I've broken the tip off once and had Rick fix it up for me. Now it's even smaller and I like better. I use it as my detail knife when I carve small items. Which is most of the time. Tom H |

Where did you see this new knife? I looked on Little Shavers and on Denny's sight and didn't see it mentioned....unless it is not referred to as the "Straight Pete". So what do you like about this knife? What is it best used for? |

| | Re: what is your favorite carving tool? I have three, all are knives
Pocket Knife - Schrade Old Timer (reground the blades)
Dave Lyons Detail knife with pakkawood handle (pretty as well as functional)
Ron Wells Detail Knife (I use it on every carving)
Many of my carvings only use these. |

| | Re: what is your favorite carving tool? I use my Ron Wells knife a lot too! I thank Wayne Shinlever for introducing me to that one! I also have a homemade knife made by a guy with the last name Bose that is pretty sweet. It cuts really well! I also like my Ortel soft V...nice on beards and removed wood with ease!

| | Re: what is your favorite carving tool? it is funny how everyone has mentioned the knife being the first tool of choice, that shows you you cant do anything without a good bench knife no matter what size it is.
