Default Whittlin' knife

I was looking for a whittling knife to retire my 40+ year old Case. I wanted a new Case Seahorse whittler, but they are a little steep, so I got an Old Timer Cigar Whittler with the thought of re-shaping the blade. I ordered a Frost Congress too. The cheap little Frost has shown to be the better knife. The blades I didn't intent to reshape need a lot of work. I was not looking for a carving knife just a whittler. I have a big clip knife I carry around the farm for serious work, but like to have a pocket knife to whittle with while I wait for the horses to finish their grain or watch my wife work her show pony. I do strange thing like male a frame out of a piece of old wood or cut up chunks of oak too hard for the machine that make the saw dust for bedding.

Default Re: Whittlin' knife

You know, here recently I've bought 2 knives that are really neat and I don't ever have to sharpen them. They're folding gyp board knives available at Lowes and/or Home depot. They come in two sizes normal and small. The normal is great for just wittlin' and the small one is great for chip carving. Their blades are razor replacable types and work really well......Jim PS they also come with a belt holster.
