Default Water wheel

I bought an antique 12 inch water-cooled sharpening wheel this weekend for $10.00, and that included a motor to drive it.
I set it up and got a little wet because I hooked the motor up backwards.

It should be a great help on plane and planer blades since it has a variable angle guide and the stone is 2 inches thick. It weighs a ton being made of cast iron, but there is just something about old tools that I really like.

The wheel weighs about 80 pounds with the motor. It would probably cost quite a bit pack up and ship.

Watched grabdpappy with his foot pedaled 30" wheel sharpen plenty of knives, shovles, hoes, axes, etc. Kept a jug of water by the wheel. but then, he was happier after a couple of swigs from that jug also. Hmm, Never saw him use it on the wheel. Just kidding, he has a jug of water and had us grandchildren pour on a little at a time. But cuffed us if we poured and got water on him.
