I am looking for a v tool. I have been trying to carve small hand held characters, nothing over 5 inches. I have read and have seen people (youtube) using v tools around the eyes nose and ears. Anyway when I looked up prices i noticed a few sizes. What would be a good general size to work on small facial features?

For characters that size, I highly recommend some of the Dockyard tools. They have a 1.5mm 70 degree V that is great for this. I use it constantly. Claude |

I use 1/16, 1/8, and 3/8. The 3/8 is used for roughing in or laying out the carving. The brand I use is Drake. Steve Brown Woodcarving |
