Default Tool roll

I know that this is a little off-topic, but I need a new tool roll! I purchased one last year but have outgrown it. I can't find one with enough tool pockets in the catalogues. I recently priced hides from Tandy and was shocked. Then I bought some naugahide with the intent of sewing my own. Well, my old Singer bogged down trying to sew through it. So, I'm now at a loss for what to do. I need spaces for about 25 gouges, chisels, etc. and spaces for a few future palm tools. Any suggestions? Bob

I know a carver who made her's out of old blue jeans.
She only used the legs, so you would still have a pair of denim shorts to wear.

I prefre to have more and separate them by groups.

I have one for the normal Pfiels, one for the smaller ones, one for the knives.

We were just getting ready to make some tool rolls from naughide. I have a quite a bit left from on rolls from making motorcycle seats. Anna said she could sew them up as her machine is capable. I have a roll of red, yellow and black and we plan to use it up. Just don't know when we will get to it.

Bob:
If you have the naugahide marked where you want to sew it, just take it down to your local shoe repair shop and have them sew it for you. Should only cost a few dollars...

Or use rivets. Hobby Lobby, JoAnn fabric....one on the top, one in the middle and one toward the bottom.

Hale Yea, plenty good. And if you want a cloth roll try Woodcarvers Supply. I have a split hide tool roll and it is fine if you use them plenty. If not they will rust in a hide roll JMO.

My brother and I spent a day in Atlanta at the IWF show....what a day!
I wasn't even looking for a tool roll...making do with several vinyl ones and a cloth one that came with tools I bought over the years, but I'll be traveling with my tools a great deal in the next few months and a new roll seemed like a good idea when I came across this one:

Piel Leather
If you look at the page, then click on the pdf flyer to see the tool rolls and aprons. I was able to buy an extra large chisel roll at a wholesale price at the show.
http://www.pielleather.com/newSite/c...her/flyers.pdf
It is very good quality, and I do not have the means to make one myself. The price I paid was excellent, but I think they retail for about $76.00 if you can find an outlet.
