Tom, you noticed the bottle on the bench did ya?

well I had to celebrate with a cold one after all my efforts!!

I think I need a tool rack. I've seen some pretty deluxe setups that have been posted on a previous thread.

have you ever seen the foam that some things comes packaged in? not the Styrofoam this stuff is dense and kind of heals itself .I was thinking of using it to stab my tools in kind of as a makeshift holder. but am concerned that it would dull the tools.

Michael, Might of been a six pack if it was me cleanin. As to a tool rack, bear with me while I apply some logic. I have one of the most beautiful tool boxes around. I also have several tool racks that keep my tools safe, visible, and handy to reach for. But I obviously prefer to sort through them in a pile or scattered across the bench top. Thus, simple logic tells me that my prefered tool rack is the bench top.

Tom, I hear ya, I am the same way. But I thought if I had something and forced my self to use it in the long run it would be better.

But I'm afraid it will just take up space and never get used!

My rule is that I always clean my bench and shop after each project. That way I can focus on the next carving. I may be a little ADD ( ooooh shiny things) so it helps not having extra stuff lon the bench.

Lorax, that is a very good rule!

my problem is that I tend to work right up to the last possible minute and then there's no time left for cleaning.

I am going to try to change and be more fastidious about cleaning up each and every time.(my wife don't think I'll be able to pull it off)I'll just have to use her negativity for motivation.

Well, Michael good for you getting your shop all clean and ready for the next project. By the way what is it?
As for me I keep my shop pretty neat as I have to share it with my hubby. If that wasn't the case then I don't think I'd be as neat or organized. LOL

its great to have a nice clean shop,

but the lost half done projects that cover every flat spot in my shop would be lost forever.
then theres all that hunting and procrastinating. to get started on projects you can find..

even though i don't have a clean place to set down a cup of joe in my shop. hey i know where things are.. i can see them all.. ha!

ill clean up when i get it all done though..
