Timberwolf band saw blades revisited... I finally got 'round to using my new band saw blades. I was starting to feel like the guy in the Lowes commercial that left his old yard tools behind his SUV so his wife would back over them. Darn, I need new stuff!! Anyway, I read the instructions (you read that right), followed the tensioning procedure, and the blade worked great. NO drift at all, very aggressive, eay to use, corners well, parallel parks in rush hour traffice first time...
A couple of minor issues. 1. the first blade I tried was a 1/8" blade for some intricate cutting. I wish it were thinner; it's almost too aggressive. If you stop moving the wood, it will eat a hole pretty quickly. I had a thinner blade a couple of years ago (not a Timberwolf), that lasted forever, but once it broke I could never find another thin one like it. 2. the proper tension setting, given their instructions, is actually more than my Delta calls for on the tension guide. I'm guessing I've been running too loose with my regular blades, at least on the 1/8" blade. |
