Default slipstrops...is that the name

hello all,
I missed thanking you all back near thanksigiving for all the help but I had a bad problem with my eye and it affected both eyes and reading internet and usijng computer was out for almost two months...thanks for al lthe help.

I could have sworn I read someplace that someone recommended and some people 'dittoed" I think what is called a slipstrop. Anyway, it is a leather covered stropping tool that has several ridges, and valleys to take any number of types of carving tools...goughes, straights etc. I have checked many many posts going back three months, but it could have been embedded in something else.

If anyone could recommend what I am looking for can you please let me know. Now that I can drive again, next week I am going to pick up four tools and finally get going, but I need something to strop the gouges and vee tools.
thanks for your help as usual
Frank

You can make your own out of wood with the very same gouge you will be using. thats what i did and altho it might not be as fancy as the Flexcut unit above, i could make it way longer.

Consider what a "slip stone" represents and how it is to be used.
If you have no thick leather, then glue some skinny leather together.
Shape with a single edged razor blade. Done deal on my planet.

Thanks for all the help folks. That is exactly what I was looking for. I would have gotten back sooner if I wasn't ill.
