Default show your modified swiss army (whittling) knife

I'm new to this and would like to mod a swiss army knife to carry with me, I make knives so I can do the work but I know very little about carving knives, could someone help me choose the right model and modifications.

I saw a book at woodcraft Buy Whittling Twigs and Branches at Woodcraft.com that talked about modding a SAK for whittling and want to do one my self, I figure you folks may have a few better ideas.

Swiss Army Knife "Tinker" model.
Modified with a Dremel tool to make the point sharper...that is to say make it so it will cut into more narrow spots in your carvings.

Since I have previously posted the image of my modified Swiss Army knife the Message board will not allow it to be uploaded again so you are going to have to poke around the board to see where I posted it before...

Sorry.
It's here somewhere...

Here's my newly modified Swiss army knife (I was inspired by RussL's picture!). So far I have found it to be a decent improvement when trying to get into tight spots.

BTW, the modded blade is the bottom one. I just put the top blade in so you could easily see the original blade profile.

Unless you really use it you might also want to grind off the "lanyard loop) thingy.
I find that it's right where I want my thumb to go when whittlin', and it hurts after you have been using the knife for extended period or with excessive pressure.

RussL,

I was considering that, but thought I would probably want some kind of powered grinder to do that. So far I have done all the reshaping on an old sharpening stone, and don't have easy access to many power tools.

gcconspriacy,

A simple mill or second cut file would go a long way to removing the bulk of the metal and then you could smooth it over with your stone(s)...though you would still have to have a file of some sort, a power tool is not really required.
...then again, removing the piece is not really required either, just easier on the thumb! <g>
