If you're talking about those 14" and 1/2" wide plastic doo-dads that have a spring loaded tip and utilize a looped strip of emery cloth, I have both and use them pretty regularly for clean-up. You can get several grit strips for them.

Another good sanding "stick" is simply one of those emery boards made for doing fingernails. they can be used as is or cut to a piont to get into tight spots.

Yes, I use them myself, they are helpful for getting into some tight spaces that ordinary sandpaper won't reach or do a good job on. The other thing I like for tight areas is riffler files. Most of mine are very fine and do a nice clean up job in places the sanding sticks might not fit.

I have to agree with HI ho. I have the sanding sticks and they work quite well. But I often use a piece of dowel or a sliver of wood with the sand paper just stuck on, that way I get the shape I need at the moment on the cheap.

I just love those spring loaded sanding sticks. I used to use sandpaper glued to popsickle sticks but found that to be a big PITA. I have three of the spring loaded ones, different colors, and keep them loaded with three different grits so I don't have to keep changing the little belt each time I need to change grit. Would absolutely not be without them.

Ditto to what Wolf said.... They are cheap enough to have several and keep different grit in them. I have used them for 15 years....
