Default Sanding Revolution!!

Just got my set of Scotch Bright sanding disks...the little ones that look like pinwheels. WOW! Do they do the trick. I wanted to see if they would work on the angora chaps that I put on some of my wranglers instead of having to use a wire brush and then torching those areas. Well, they did the trick. Removed the fuzz from stoning completely!! I could see where they would really work for the bird carvers for removing the char from burning, etc.

Lynn, they are great aren't they! I tried some not long ago that had been sitting around here, they came with something else I had gotten. I thought, "yeah, right", but now I'm sold on'um. Need a whole bunch of them now for sanding on Hef.

I have seen them advertised, wondered about them, and thought about trying them someday. Just have not been in a hurry since I have a large supply of the various grades of pads right now. Are these different than making up your own?

These things are the ticket, the cats meow, the answer to all intricate sanding problems. Itsy Bitsy little fingers that go in and clean out those fuzzy crevasses. I've tried to make my own by using scotch brite cloth etc, with no luck. These do the job in a flash.

I love these lil' disks! I use them in Santa beards, around the faces of my dolls and around the ears of the mice I carve. You can have one or six on the mandrel at a time. I usually get along with three on the mandrel. If you dont mash down on them and keep your speed low they will last quite a while. So far I've only used the white ones. We did get the variety package to try out.

An A+ from me!

Lynn, I THINK we are talking about the same thing here. I buy sheets of the coarse 9 by 12 scotchbrite pads fromThe Woodcraft Shop, Bettendorf, Iowa and cut them myself. You don't need to cut them round, square will do as they will wear round. been using them for years to defuzz and one sheet makes a LOT of defuzzer pads.
