Â* Â* I got both the fine and coarse diamond riffler files for Christmas, finally got to try the coarse ones last night, they really worked great. Â*I can see where both kinds will come in very handy! Â*Glad to read here how to 'clean' them! Callynne

Yes, I use Riffler files and find them very valuable to my carvings. I mostly use them on cariactures, so I need to get into some really small places. And, they don't clog as one might think. Instead, they maintain their edge consistently. I would recommend them for the tight places that you want to clean up.

Does anybody use Riffler Files ? Do they work ? I see them advertized but have never heard anybody mention using them.. I have used files on metal but would think they would 'clog up' when used on wood. Â*???

Â* Â* I used my fine grit (240) diamond rifflers yesterday and they worked really good getting into tight places. Â*I wondered what the heck you'd use that round one for, found out it comes in very handy lots of places. Â*
Â* Â* I'm glad to hear you say they keep their edge Gwen, I was wondering about that. Â*Sure are handy things to have. Â*Callynne

I also have a little sliver metal holder that holds carving burrs, one in each end. I keep it out all the time (away from the edges of my gouges) on my bench and use it when necessary to clean as I go. In one end, I have a round diamond burr. In the other, I have a tear drop shaped one (I use it the most.) They never clog.

I find this tool to be most useful.
