Back on 12-03-2011, I started a thread with a couple of pix of Rainbow western red cedar in the Carving Wood & Materials Forum (#44137?). Anyway, as of yesterday, I am now the delighted and flabbergasted owner of a BrandantR knife made from my Rainbow Cedar. I had no idea what many of you have meant about "detail" tools. Now, I begin to comprehend. The tool itself is a great example of Brandant's craftsmanship. I have heard rumors about his skill. Believe them all. I can only imagine that this knife will be the very last blade that I need to use to make clean and straight edges in my carvings before finish. So. I thought it only fitting to show you the knife on the split log edge where the wood really did come from. Brandant: in public = thanks. |

Brian: It's a beauty alright, and by all accounts Brandant's bladesmithing skills are gaining renown here on the message board. Congrats, and I'm sure you will get a lot mileage from your new tool! L.P.

I'm very pleased that you like the knife Brian. You deserve it. You guys are making me blush with all of the attention that my knives have been getting as of late. I certainly hope that they can continue to live up to the praise. Now, off to the shop to make more. . .

Thank you all for the comments. Brandant gets all the credit for the build. I had no idea how the knife would look. Gimme another week or two or three and I might be able to put it in a tool roll. As for now, I just stare at it in wonder.
