| | power strop for gouges I attended a local carving show and there was a gentleman selling a Delta grinder with a hard and loose wheel which he appied aluminum oxide to it to polish the tool, anyone use similar?...thinking about a purchase....I don't have a good means to keep gouges up to a great cutting edge, so thinking this could be the first step?...any comments...Dennis

| | Re: power strop for gouges Lowes sells a nice grinder that I have put pads on. Like you describe, a hard and soft. I use the soft most of the time. I seldom have to do anything other than hit the gouge or knife on the buffing pad to bring it back to top shape. I think I gave $39 for the grinder and another $7 or $8 for the pads. It runs great...very little vibration. |

| | Re: power strop for gouges where did you purchase the wheels?....the one's at the local show were about 19.00 each one hard and the other loose...but they are made for a 1/2 shaft, I have the 3650 grinder but no wheels?...Dennis

| | Re: power strop for gouges Use the loosely woven wheel with the white compound and the wheel is chucked in to my drill that is mounted on my work bench.
