I know a lot of you know what a pin vise is, but for those of you who don't, I figured I would post a picture. I bought this from Dave Rushlo on ebay. Very handy little tool for getting rid of fuzzies and even adding some detail. It works great to hold diamond burrs, even the larger ones. It has three different size collets and goes up to 1/8 inch shaft. Excuse the dirty fingernails,( oh, the details that show up in close ups), I had my hands in potting soil and didn't get my dish washing manicure in yet.

I got a holder also ... although lately I just use the diamond bits for those cracks that you can not get most tools into....it really does work!

Thanks Don! Hi Di, I was just using the burrs with my fingers, but kind of getting arthritis in my hands, so this helps my control better and my fingers don't get all cramped up. But you are right, it does work! I have a bunch of profiles of diamond needle file that work real well too.

Good idea, Sharon! I have a pin vise and used it mostly for holding those tiny drill bits for micro-holes...I'll definitely give your plan a try. Been using rifflers for that type of stuff but it looks like the diamond burs in a pin vise might be even better. Al |

That's cool Sharon, I have a regular (small) handle pin vise, but I like the larger handle much better. Thanks for posting! Dave |

Thanks for the pictures. 1. Gotta figure out how to rig a handle like that. Mine is a skinny & smooth aluminum thing like a pencil. 2. Of course! DUH! the vise will hold all sorts of Dremel burrs. |
