Default Pfeil Shoulder Knife

Was just wondering if anyone had tried the Pfeil Shoulder Knife (http://www.langevinforest.com/fr/cat...B1&search=true).

Any comments? Is it worth the price tag?

Wow!
That is one crazy looking knife! I don't think my thumbguard is big enough...

Well one thing is for sure and for certain! With all that pressure you can put on the blade, you better have your left hand .....waaay out of the way, or you might just lose a big part of it! In my opinion, a pointless knife. but wadda eye kno!

Hello,

This is not meant to insult anyone, but it sure sounds like the French to come up with some thing to avoid expending energy!!! LOL.

now that is a knife, not sure what you would use it for, maybe you could prune trees and carve with it.

I have all Pfiel tools but I think I would go to a mallet and gouge to do something that large. Even with the shoulder support, I would think it would be a challenge to control as you would need a lot of pressure to remove wood with a blade that size. I'd be interested seeing it in action as I am commenting from no experience....perhaps it might work well for some type of carvings.

It looks to me like it would give great control of the blade as well as added downward pressure. It also looks like it'd be useless in many situations.

Have to agree with heineda on that one, for sure. Wade, I think that shoulder knife would be good for one thing and it isn't carving wood.
Not a knife I woiuld waste money on.
