Default New tools

After sixty-some years of carving and whittling, I decided to "get serious," although it's still just a hobby. I just received a set of Pfiel "Swiss-made" carving tools that I ordered. This doubles the number of chisels, gouges, and V-parting tools that I have at my disposal. The new set only duplicated one gouge of what I already had, and it's one I use a lot: #3-12.

Phil, that is the brand I have the most of, Pfeil. I have never had any problems with mine and they hold the edge very well.

Yes, the set even came with a little brass plate with my name on it. But the box isn't as nice on the top as my old one:

Yes, the pattern is from Wayne Barton's book on chip carving.

Well done. That is a great set of tools and should bring you a life time of joy! I use my Pfiels more than any other tools now and wish I had invested in more of them. They have just the right bevel for me and hold an edge beautifully.

Now get to work and lets see some results! LOL
