Default New Pfiel Knife

Stoped in to Woodcraft yesterday, they have a new knife by Pfeil, the handle looks like a Flexcut knife handle. The gentleman at W. Craft said they were new, claims the quality was excellent, they are only $24.95. Any thought on these knives, I am itching to buy one and W.Craft has 10 % off everything in the store Sat. 3/1.

Just my luck. They always seem to come out with new items right after I buy one. I have recently bought one of the original carving knifes they have, and is pritty good compard to what I was using. It could stand to be a little sharper, though, and I don't have any good stones yet to sharpen it.

Quality wise, you can feel safe. The question will be is the handle shape comfortable for you, and only you will be able to answer that.

Ed,
Handle fits pretty good and the price seems fair. What I really liked was the shape of the blade and overall look of the knife, guess I will pick one up on the sale day.

The only pfeil knife I have is a chip carving knife, and if I remember, the whole set is designed for chipcarving?

I have a Pfiel detail knife that I really like the only problem with them is they don't come sharpened. So the first thing I did was send it to Rick to be sharpened. The one I have seems to hold an edge real good.

That was also a concern of mine, I have other knives that need to go to Rick for sharpening. I just received my first purchase from Rick the other day and was very happy, sharp and ready to use.

I posted a comparison of Pfeil and Henry Taylor tools about a year ago:
Henry Taylor vs. Pfeil tools

It has some photos of similar tools and shows the differences between them. Mike
