Default New knife

Hi Everybody
I made this knife friday. The metal that i used is a high ware hi temp steel that i use on my job in natural gas compressors. I've made a few hunting knifes in the past out of this metal and the steel is real hard and it takes a long time to get it sharp but it seame to hold a edge very well.the blade is 1" long.I will finish the handle if the blade show to be a good.
Vic.

Looks good to me! I assume that you plan to use it for chip carving? I don't see any rivets. How did you adhere the metal to the wood?

Hi Eddy
I epoxed it to the wood because to drill it i will have to use the torch to soften the steel i can't drill it if i dont.No i didn't make it for chip carving the peace of metal has the curve in it so i had to make it with the curve. The metal may not be good for carving knifes so i didn't want spend a lot of time on it just a test!!!

If not for chip carving then I'll bet it will work really good for making long stop cuts. I rather like the design and the wood is real pretty from looking at the photo.
